I was sitting here wondering what the next blog should be about when "it" hit me.... "Know Your Brands." if you are a brand new producer, you have no idea what machine does what or who makes the best software. I figure that everyone has to find their own path & choose their own arsenal of weaponry. But at the same time, there are some names in the music recording world that you can trust. Their products will deliver consistently, EVERY TIME. I'll name a few sound modules that are stand alones.
Roland: I Trust Roland's keyboards & synths because of their ease of learning. Powerful Analog capabilities. Roland perfected the 808 boom kick & clap on all of their sound modules. #EnoughSaid
Korg: Gritty synthesized sounds. Intricate sequencers. Have you ever heard a Triton or a Karma or a M3? #SERIOUSBUSINESS
Akai: Created the "MPC." The MPC 2000 is the U.S. Standard for hip hop production in commercial studios. Akai also produces great midi controllers for software.
Yamaha: The Motif. Yes. Rich realistic analog horns & Rhodes gone digital.
Casio! LOL (Hit songs have been made with traditional Casio keyboards, no joke!!!)
I'm done!
PEACE.
